I just followed Stephen King down Boylston street and got too nervous to talk to him and ran away like a little girl.

What would you have talked to him about?
I've seen my share of random famous people out and about. It's cool 'n all, but I have never had the urge to talk to them because I would have nothing to say.

I would have probably just walked by him and said "hey Steve" or something. He's one of the very few famous people I give a shit about and have had a serious impact on my life.

I had a somewhat similar experience one time at a BossTones show. I don't know how "celebrity" the guys are up there, but all my interactions with Dicky were basically just a "Hey" or "love you guys," until one time when he was in plainclothes walking around the crowd. I said the usual "hey" at which time he stopped and lit up a cigarette. I immediately froze, and proceeded to be a complete douche. I think I asked him how it was going or some dumb shit.
He wasn't supposed to stop. I had nothing.

Hobbit, that story gave me a chuckle.
One of the funniest encounters I recall was walking with Jeff(Morris) down Lansdown St. when the side door to The Avalon opens. Paul Westerberg comes walking out, head down, at a very brisk pace, and slams right into all 6'4" of Jeff (Westergerg is kinda small). Startled as hell from just running into Paul Bunyon sized Jeff... Westerberg looks up , like he's looking up at a Redwood tree, and Jeff says "Hey Paul, how's it goin'?" I'm trying to keep a straight face. Westerberg mumbles, looks at is shoes and skeedadled to the tour bus. Too funny.

I heard he was traumatized after seeing a childhood friend get run over and killed by a train. Next time run up to him making really loud choo-choo sounds. I think that would go over well.
